The Porsche 911 RSR is a racing vehicle created by Porsche for competition in the International Motor Sports Association GTLM and Automobile Club de l'Ouest LM GTE classes. It's meant to take the place of the Porsche 911 RSR (991). The vehicle was debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 20161.
The engine is positioned in front of the back axle, as opposed to the line of other 911 versions. In fact, the LM GTE category permits the engine2's position to be optimized.
At the Northeast Grand Prix in July 2017 at Lime Rock Park, the 911 RSR won its first race.
