According to reports, the C63 AMG is the first AMG-Mercedes vehicle built from the ground up. The previous AMG C-Class variants had effectively been "bolted on" performance upgrades, and according to Car and Driver, these earlier AMG cars had "heavy steering" and "relentless understeer." The CLK 63 AMG Black Series' updated front end suspension was used in the C63 AMG. Now that the ESP may be totally disabled, it only interferes while braking hard. The fastest and most responsive steering of any Mercedes to date is found on the C63 AMG. The new C63 was dubbed the best driver's car in the Mercedes series by AOL Autos.
