The Lexus LC is a grand tourer/personal luxury car produced by Lexus, Toyota's premium subsidiary (Japanese: LC, Rekusasu LC). It is based on Toyota Calty Design Research's 2012 LF-LC Concept, which was created in Newport Beach, California. From January 2013 to January 2016, design work was transferred from Calty to the Toyota Technical Center in Aichi, Japan, where it was developed under the program codename "950A." The final production design was then frozen in the first part of 2014.
Between 2011 and 2016, the Lexus LC was created under the 950A program codename. The LF-LC Concept, created by Calty Design Research in Newport Beach, California, served as a preview of it. The 2012 Detroit Auto Show saw the concept car's debut. Later, in January 2013, design work was moved from Calty to the Toyota Technical Center in Aichi, Japan, with a final production design freeze occurring in the first part of 2014.
