Prior to its debut at the LA Auto Show in January 2020, the BMW M2 CS, a track-focused variant of the BMW M2, was introduced online in November 2019. 2,200 units are expected to be produced beginning in March 2020.
The S55 engine from the F82 M4 with competition package, which is rated at 331 kW (444 horsepower) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, is also used in the M2 CS. For vehicles with a six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, the acceleration time from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour (62 mph) is 4.0 and 3.8 seconds, respectively.
The calipers and rotors from the M2 Competition are still used, but ceramic brakes are now an option. Standard features include an electronic locking differential and an adaptive M suspension. The transmission tunnel is composed of carbon fiber as an extra weight-saving measure, and the wheel hubs and control arms are made of forged aluminum.
