The Toyota GR86 would probably take home the prize for Most Improved Sports Car if we handed out such a prize. The second edition of this supremely exciting rear-wheel drive coupe debuted in 2022 and fixed the main problem we had with the first one: a weak engine. The second time, a 228-hp flat-four with lots of mid-range power provides the power, and although a six-speed manual transmission is standard (and the only option), a six-speed automatic is also offered. We won't be telling you to choose it, that's for sure. The GR86 is little and reasonably priced, similar to, example, a Mazda MX-5 Miata, but with a tiny back seat a la Porsche 911 that lets you bring along little ones.
