Koenigsegg Gemera

The plug-in hybrid electric powertrain that Koenigsegg developed in-house and used to power the Gemera boasts a combined output of 1,700 horsepower and 3500 Nm of torque. A 16.6 kWh battery pack, a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 2.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, and three electric motors—one for each of the vehicle's rear wheels and one for the front axle—make up the system. The petrol engine alone can produce 600 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. The Tiny Friendly Giant is the name Koenigsegg has given to its compact yet potent three-cylinder petrol engine. According to the manufacturer, it uses between 15% and 20% less gasoline than a conventional 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with direct injection and variable valve timing. Additionally, cold-start emissions are 60% better than with a traditional engine.
