From the ground up, this 1965 Ford Mustang was designed to be all-wheel drive. Ken picked Vaughn Gittin's crew to do their magic for this reason. The RTR team discovered the need of strength and safety after beginning in the virtual world. Because of this, they opted for carbon fiber body panels instead of a tube frame chassis. The construction of an inboard suspension was entrusted to ASD Motorsports. Control arms were made of billet material and CNC-machined. As a result, Ken Block's Mustang weighs less than any other late-model Ford that is now for sale. The main benefit is that it has less unsprung weight than many race-specific vehicles.
The Hoonigan Hoonicorn underwent a number of additional modifications in order to satisfy Pike's Peak's criteria. The Hoonicorn Mustang RTR V2 is what has surfaced. At a height of 14,000 feet, the Hoonicorn's specifications of 1,400 horsepower and 1,250 lb-ft of torque were put to the test. The documentary "Climbkhana" by Hoonigan featured footage of the race. Fans have more recently learned about the car's capabilities through Forza Racing. The Hoonicorn's 0-60 time of 1.8 seconds made it a favorite for heads-up racing, so Hoonigan and Ken Block decided to compete in a quarter-mile drag race against a McLaren Senna.
